Xiaomi Redmi 4 Factory Data Reset

Xiaomi has recently launched a new smartphone i.e., Redmi 4 Priced at Rs 8999.  The device comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB as its internal storage and can be expanded to 64 GB using an external Micro SD card. It has 5-inch IPS display with 294 PPI and 1280 x 720 pixels as its resolution. The device comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box along with MIUI 7. If you are using this smartphone and would like to switch to any of the other phone launched by Xiaomi then always remember to factory reset your device before you give the device for others to use. There are two ways in which you can reset your smartphone i.e., soft reset and hard reset.

Soft Reset:

This is the normal reset of the smartphone where you just need to restart your device to close all the unwanted applications form your Redmi 4. In this process you need to press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to switch off your device.

Hard Reset:

Hard reset is the actual factory rest of your smartphone. You need to follow the steps mention below to factory reset your Xiaomi Eedmi 3s Prime.

Step 1: Open the Settings and click on Additional Settings.

Step 2: In the new window, tap on Backup & Reset option which is available on the screen.

Step 3: Now you need to tap on Factory Data Reset in the personal Data Section which is available at the bottom of the screen.

Note: If you have set any password or pin or pattern on your device then you need to enter that before and then you need to tap on Reset Phone.

Step 4: In the new window, a final warning is displayed on the screen with the reset phone button at the center on the screen. Now tap on Reset Phone button to proceed further.

The device restarts and the data is completely wiped from your smartphone and makes your device again fresh for use.


  • Before you factory reset your smartphone make sure your create the backup of the data on your phone as factory resetting is irreversible process and data once erased cannot be retrieved.
  • Always make sure that your device is charged to atleast 30% as factory resetting your device requires sometime to wipe the data from your Redmi 4 Prime / Redmi 4.
