How To Check If PAN is linked with AADHAAR

As everyone is aware, the Indian Government has made it mandate to link PAN with AADHAAR by the end of MARCH, 2023. We suggest you to check your PAN/ AADHAAR status if they are linked or not. Please follow the below steps to check/ validate if your PAN Card is linked with your AADHAAR.

Steps to check the AADHAAR & PAN Link Status:

Step 1: Open https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/

Step 2: On the left Menu, Click on Link Aadhar Status.

Step 3: Enter the PAN Number and AADHAAR Number.

Note: Please enter the correct details or else the View Link Aadhaar Status button will be greyed out and you won’t be able to click on it.

Step 4: Now click on View Link Aadhaar Status.

Note: A Pop-up with the Status “Your PAN XXXXXXX is already linked to given Aadhaar XXXXXXXXXXX”, will be displayed on the screen.

If the Aadhaar is not linked to the PAN CARD then the below message is displayed on screen.

Now if you want to Link your Aadhaar with PAN you can click on Link Aadhar from the existing Pop-up Window.

What is PAN?

A permanent account number (PAN) is a ten-character alphanumeric identifier, issued in the form of a laminated “PAN card”, by the Indian Income Tax Department, to any person who applies for it or to whom the department allots the number without an application. It can also be obtained in the form of a PDF file.

What is Aadhaar?

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number that can be obtained voluntarily by the citizens of India and resident foreign nationals who have spent over 182 days in twelve months immediately preceding the date of application for enrolment, based on their biometric and demographic data.
